This is a polysaccharide that is found naturally in the dermis and is one of the main sources of skin turgor. In fact, it allows the components of the extracellular matrix to organize three-dimensionally. It has potent moisturizing power, as it is capable of retaining a large amount of water, maintaining adequate skin hydration, and increasing the volume of the tissue in folds and furrows, which helps to blur wrinkles.
Pomegranate is rich in substances such as tannins and gallic acid that make it astringent and allow it to regulate sebaceous secretion. It also contains vitamin E and zinc, which give it antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties for sensitive skin. In addition, it shields against UV-induced damage and protects the skin’s DNA. Topically, tannins waterproof the outermost layers of the skin and mucous membranes, thus protecting the underlying layers. They also have a vasoconstrictive effect on small superficial vessels. By limiting the loss of flow and preventing external aggressions, tannins favor the regeneration of tissues (healing) in cases of superficial wounds or burns.
Vitamin E is the most widely used active ingredient in skincare. It is a powerful antioxidant that captures free radicals generated by exposure to UV light or pollution and prevents further damage. In general, the addition of vitamin antioxidants (vitamin E and vitamin C) improves the photoprotection provided by sunscreens as a second biological line of defense against premature UV-induced skin aging.
Allantoin is a keratolytic moisturizer, which helps to keep skin soft, smooth, and healthy. It also helps to protect the skin against irritants and can be added to cosmetic products to counteract the drying or irritating effects of other ingredients.
The formulation has two chemical sunscreens and one physical one (titanium dioxide), and thus actively protects against UVA radiation that causes skin aging and UVB radiation that causes erythema and sunburn.
These pigments even skin tone and give the face some light color.
